"We had Alex bid on both concrete and deck repair or replacement. The deck price was competitive and allowed us to do what we really wanted - to stay with a deck instead of a less expensive concrete patio. The experience was positive in so many ways, but what stands out to me is Alex's professionalism (something sorely lacking in contractors today). He was the first (of six) to get back with me with his quote and walked us through our options with a video presentation. When he found that our joists had already been reused and were in sorry shape, he showed us his concerns and clearly proved to us that full replacement was the only real option. Then he made time to increase the scope of the project and finished in just a couple extra days. As many others have pointed out, he leaves the property in good shape at the end of the day and the project. He kept our deck footprint identical to the original deck so we didn't have to make any changes to our landscaping. Our deck appears to be sturdy, and I believe the extra steps he took (like putting Teflon tape on the joists) will make this deck last for a couple of decades with reasonable maintenance and care. I'm excited to have Alex back to apply the stain and will update my review with the full "after" images."
